We had a lovely day out to Whitby. It was dull on arrival but ended up a nice evening. We walked, window-shopped. I had afternoon tea with my mum-in-law and watched the goths parading on the street - they have a regular Gothic Weekend there - very entertaining. We sat in the sun on the pier and had fish and chips which was just perfect. A lovely seaside-y day.

Hi Anne - thanks for visiting me and sharing your comments on the story of my Mum.
I just love your blog and have spent time this morning while enjoying my coffee reading about your life in England.........and I'm now so homesick!!
Belated congrats. on your marriage - your DH looks "luverly"- and I wish you a wonderful life together. You certainly lead a busy life - what do you sell?
I'm loving your descriptions of places visited, bringing back so many memories e.g. my Dad was billeted in Bourton-on-the-Water during WWII, and I visited there and Stow-in-the-Wold during one of my trips home, SO pretty.
Speaking of fish 'n chips, we have a first here, an authentic chippy! Just opened by a really nice guy from Stratford who actually went to Hotel & Catering school in Torquay - the same technical college I attended before coming to the US in 1962. Of course he's much younger than me!! Small world isn't it?
I will add your blog to my favorites and visit you often as it's a real touch of fresh British air and I love your pics. I'm coming home to Torquay in October - it's been two years and I'm really anxious for this visit.
Stay well - be happy.
Mary.
What a wonderful place to visit! Thanks for sharing, glad to have found your blog!
