And finally....

So we have had a fun autumn filled with trips and family times but we have also had a major change to our lives.

On 26th September we had news that meant, God willing, life would never be the same again!
We are expecting a baby!

It's been a trying few months with all day sickness, insomnia and tiredness and Mike has been doing lots of shopping as I have been rather housebound. It's getting better....!!

This is the day when we found out and also when we showed my parents the scan picture about 10 days ago. They came down to take care of us as I had ended up with flu too.
They couldn't believe our news!

This weekend we tell Mike's brothers and families, having told his parents when they stayed with us for Bonfire Night.

Bonfire Night at D&C's

We always go to Mike's aunt and uncle for bonfire night.

Mike's 2 brothers and families are there and the kids were all dressed up. Every year we have meat & potato pie with mushy peas and real gravy - it's divine!

We watched the fireworks, had sparklers, enjoyed mulled wine, the men played with lego towers and then we headed home.

Baked Alaska to finish

Our last meal we had local lakeland lamb ( about 7 food miles) followed by Baked Alaska which nearly finished us off!!

Last day...

Birthday Meal

In the evening we had dinner, presents, mum did her poem for "A Paisley Buddy", we had cake and stayed up late talking.

Happy 70th Dad!!!

Windermere

Ambleside

Boat Trip to Ambleside

On dad's actual birthday we took the boat (the Swan this time) across the lake to Ambleside. It was a lovely sail, we had lunch and wandered until it was time to get back.

Cockshott Point

We had a walk - mum, dad, Rosie and me to Cockshott Point which was really nice if a little rainy.

Our 2nd Anniversary

Mike and I got up really early and walked down to the church where we had our service. The church were so great to us and Lis, the minister was lovely - we were sorry not to see her this time.

Windermere in October

For my Dad's 70th we returned to Windermere. It was a surprise but he guessed (of course!) We went with my aunt & uncle and some family friends and Mike's parents came for a couple of days too. We hadn't been back since we got married there exactly 2 years before so it was fantastic to be there again.
We stayed in a great house - perfect for a party, huge dining table, ensuites, and central location.

Walk in Abbey Fields

Before I took Dad for his plane we had a walk round the lake before lunch. We saw a heron amongst the usual collection of birds on the water.

A Ruby Anniversary Party

We celebrated with our friends G&P for their Ruby - 40 years!!! They kindly invited us for a meal at their house and my dad too who was staying with us that weekend.
The food was amazing and we had a great time with everyone.

Celebration of a Wedding

We went to D&C's in Oxford to celebrate their son's wedding which we hadn't been able to go to as we were away.
Met lots of people from their church and had lovely food including a great cake and we saw the photos.
