The Slaughters

The next day after a wonderful breakfast with locally sourced produce which we loved, we drove through The Slaughters and stopped to have a stroll.

The Manor House at Moreton

The Manor House

We decided to take ourselves away for a last weekend before life changes so we drove just 30 minutes away to Moreton-in-Marsh in the Cotswolds to stay at this fab hotel. It was funny to stay somewhere so local, the kind of place we would visit for an afternoon but it was great for us as we got to stay a bit longer in the area and of course the travel time was so short which was lovely and we were only a short ride to the hospital should we have needed to go there unexpectedly. (thankfully we didn't!)

We arrived and had afternoon tea in the library...warm scones, latte for me and tea for Mike and organic jam.

We saw our room with this lovely bear waiting to greet us....

We wandered in the town and had a rest before dinner in the hotel's Mulberry restaurant. The food was exquisite...I loved every moment of the meal, the decor- lots of cow prints, the ambience, lots of little tasters and beautifully presented plates of food.

The garden was lovely to relax in and included a 300 year old Mulberry tree.
