Garden days

More lovely sunshine and the chance to sit outside and have lunch
while being visited by the cat next door.
Complete bliss....we hope it continues.

This weekend we have managed to have lunch in the garden at the new house - just rolls and tea - while the sun was out and in between jobs and then on Sunday we had cooked lunch - our new favourite, spaghetti pie, with salad because again it was a lovely day.
It feels like an early summer although when the sun goes in it does get cold quickly. It's just so nice to have this great weather so we have to make the most of it while it's here.
I had an early breakfast and so now it's time for coffee in the garden...I can see the garden chair beckoning me.

A kind gesture

Friends of ours, J&T, are having an extension and were going to demolish their summer house to make room for it...instead they very kindly offered it to us so we jumped at the chance and Mike hired a box van and went to collect it on Friday from Oxford.
I really thought it would lie in pieces for months but Mike and his dad dug out the base, ordered ballast for it and then got the whole summer house up on Saturday at our new house.
I was amazed.
It needs a good clean and a paint but apart from that it's fantastic!

Thanks J&T!

Then on Sunday late afternoon they had a bonfire to clear all the garden rubbish after the work was finished.

Breakfast

Mostly I have porridge for breakfast - healthy for the baby and the oats are so good for you.
( I keep reading about this especially as I am borderline for gestational diabetes - very annoying but a minor problem really )
I have it with a teaspoonful of honey and I do enjoy it but really I would rather wake up each day and warm some croissants to have with Bonne Maman apricot jam every time.

Birthday

Last Monday was my birthday...it took me a while to get ready to go out that day as I received parcels in the post and a few l-o-n-g phone calls which was lovely - the highlight of the day.
Another highlight was that I went to a new place just opened in Kenilworth called "The Cake Kingdom" where there are, of course, great cakes to choose from...I thought I'd go for a fancy cupcake but in the end this lemon cake just shouted out to me. It was a good choice!
