Our last day...

We were sad to leave the oasis B&B which had been so relaxing for us especially as the owner is selling so we are unlikely to be able to return there.

We crossed the border and headed south to Bamburgh. Again I had been here as a child but had no memory of it although I was delighted to find the Grace Darling museum (more later) - all refurbished - which had so entranced me back then.
The rain was back on so we had scones in the cafe, looked at the castle then walked on the beach - it was bracing and wonderful - before going to check out the museum.

We headed home, stopping in Yorkshire - a surprise visit to Mike's parents who fed us before returning late to Kenilworth.

Sigh...your posts make my heart ache. England is so beautiful and cozy and friendly; so rich in history and, well, there's nothing better than tea with milk and warm scones. Is it possible to be "homesick" for somewhere one only has been for three weeks?
